Kushido Karate Do is South Africa's oldest school of Karate. The head of Kushido is Renshi Nico Bester (7th Dan).
Honbu dojo (the headquarters) is headed by the Chief Instructor Shihan Lawrence Milward Bridges (6th Dan)
The system has affiliated dojos worldwide and has produced many provincial and Springbok karate-ka, as well as many master grades. It was the initial training school for many local and international teachers.
All aspects of training are given: Karate-Do, Kobudo (traditional Okinawan weapons) Tai Chi Chuan and C.Q.P (close quarter protection) which is the finest form of SELF DEFENCE.

Hanshi Denis will be missed by all members of Kushido, and indeed all who ever trained with him. He dedicated his life to promoting and developing Karate-do, Kubudo and Tai Chi Chuan with an enthusiasm that is legendary. Many of the Kobudo (traditional Okinawan weapons) katas were designed by him and are now practiced world wide. His legacy have had a lasting influence on the world of martial arts. True to his calling he was still teaching up until his last days.
The Man of Calling does not heap up possessions The more he does for others, the more he possesses. The more he gives to others, the more he has.
